Storms To Pass/Two Minutes

•Written on April 26th, 2025.•

First storm in weeks, thick and warm

Sit on the doorstep, lean on the stucco

It’s been dull all morning

Now, finally, it rains

You bring the little radio from the kitchen

Earl Grey, steaming, foggy with milk

Tune out the static, sing songs we know

Howl to the flooding streets

We are waiting, as always

For puddles to form

For tea to steep (two minutes left now)

For sleep to come

For storms to pass
